Deufol: Gas and air quality measurements
To protect employees against this, Arizo helped with the gas and air quality measurements, both on receipt of the containers and during storage in the warehouses. Deufol’s workplace was fitted with specialised measuring equipment and Arizo’s gas experts went on site to carry out the measurements.
After the initial risk analysis, the employees were trained to use the measuring equipment. “So that our own people can measure efficiently and with one hundred percent certainty,” says Ralph Mertens.
At Arizo, we always develop solutions tailored to the workplace and its existing processes. At Deufol, the risk lay in the incoming containers. By analysing air samples from the containers, mapping the hazardous substances and measuring exposure during unloading, the unloading procedure was refined and made safe.
Gas measurements are now a standard part of the unloading and receiving process. The optimisation removed employees’ concerns and increased support for safety.
